Hi all

Just a quick message to the winners to say that we haven't forgotten to ship your prizes, but the Coronavirus has caused a lot of troubles with shipping and just life in general over here in the east.

So, fret not, the prizes will be shipped out... likely around late March though.

Sorry for the delay.

- Cheers

Not yet, and it's probably going to be a while due to the Corovavirus messing everything up    :(

Ahoy Me Hearties !!

So, lots of you have written in with your details, but we still have a few outliers.
Can those who have not written in yet send their address/phone number by Friday  31st (formatted nicely on separate lines) to support@mysterious.design  ASAP   :)

Yes, we know the 10 day "must provide details" deadline has already passed, but that's ok   ;)

Also, FYI, a few of you HAVE provided your address but haven't done the verification check as requested, so you guys are also included in the new Friday deadline.

- Cheers

Hi Mandy

Thanks for the long and thorough post.
We did indeed play the 'broken' games multiple times to check, but since it looks to me now that the brokenness might have been caused by driver or other technical issues on that specific machine, I think adding a 'check on a 2nd machine' test could very well be in order next year. At least for the games that appear  broken.
And like you say, also check the comments to make sure that everyone's experiences are lining up.

This being the case, and the fact that these games were clearly working for others and are working for me now on a different machine, I am confident to say that these 2 games would have at least got a Doubloon, so Harman Kamboj and Captain_Breadbeard, feel free to write in as per the instructions on the other post     :)

- Cheers

So, to all Jam veterans, does anyone have experience in this issue?

Now I played these 2 games and they are for sure acting different than when originally checked. (dunno why)
Is it normally a case of too little too late, or games are usually given a 2nd chance?  If so, isn't that unfair to other games?  I dunno.  Asking advice and opinions.

Hi there

It looks like he filled in the wrong comment on that entry. But I remember playing this and there was nothing to do and no islands and the only stuff we saw was sunk under the map and unreachable.
I just had another play and it's much better though, actually works as a game.
Was it updated after the deadline?

- Cheers

I quite enjoyed Miceland in a retro way.
The low colour platforming gave me the feels of when I used to play New Zealand Story on the Spectrum   :)
But I "think" I dug out an entire level and found no chest, only floating coins.
Still, not too shabby   :)

Just a kindly note to the winners, can you please format your address in a 'normal' way?   ;)

Like...

NAME
HOUSE/STREET
CITY, STATE
POSTCODE
COUNTRY
TELEPHONE NUMBER

Thanks    :D

Hi there

On the main Jam page, scroll down to this rule...
Grand Prize and Runner Up Prizes awarded one (1) to a team.

So yeah just 1 'prize' per submission.

- Cheers

Pretty sure it's ok.
I've seen others doing it already.

Yeah, we already said that we're going to choose the winners  ourselves, to prevent 'gaming the system', so hopefully any of the public who want to vote will be doing so to just show their appreciation of the games, rather than to help the contestants gain anything tangible .

If you really really don't want to put the info up on itch, then yes, you can email us at support@mysterious.design making sure to give us as much info about you and your game as possible so we know who you are   :)

Hi there.

We will open this to the public in the next 2 to 3 days after me and American have already had a chance to go through every game and choose our winners and runner-ups.

- Cheers

Yes, please put all that info into the description.

Excellent and lengthy post even after working your ass off in a tight deadline 48 hour jam   :)
Nice to hear what kind of experiences people are having !!

Good question.
There does seem to be a disconnect with what we said in the rules and what we set up in the jam.
Will discuss with American tomorrow and see what's what.

I noticed on other jams people were doing a "I'll rate your game if you rate mine" kinda thing.
We're totally cool with that.
Everyone go ahead !!

Good question.
I'll talk this over with American tomorrow and we'll investigate.

Dear Scurvy Scallywags !!!

The Jam is now over and I'm seeing a LOT of awesome looking stuff on the submissions page   :)
Me and American want to give a HUGE THANKS to all that took part and we can't wait to get our teeth into these and see who is the most piratey pirate and deserving of the trip to Thailand.

I "think" we're probably even going to try and play some of these games during our live-stream we're doing tomorrow, but am unsure about that at the moment.
Still, here's the link to the stream just in case...

I've done my best to try and stay on top of things and remove inappropriate submissions. Basically the ones that aren't original and made for this Jam, but in case I have missed anything or been hoodwinked, please feel free to tell me at this support address if you'd like to remain anonymous...

Big piratey hugs from Martin and American.

Looking at the Jam info page when editing it, it looks like there isn't an extra hour after the timer finishes.

Avast ye landlubbers !!

We hope you're all enjoying the Pre-Jam Skirmish and coming up with some awesome BOUNTY themed games   :)

One thing we have noticed though are people just joining our Jam and submitting games they worked on ages ago that has nothing to do with us or our Jam or our theme.
Me and American want to just delete these to curate our Jam and keep it tidy and relevant, and our rules do indeed say these other games are not eligible, but we just wanted to ask you Jam veterans if deleting inappropriate content is something Jam hosts do?

I think we're ok to delete, but please let us know what you think too.

- Cheers

Blood and gibs are fine.
We were referencing 'overly sexy stuff' when we said to keep it PG    :)

Bountys are amazing.
You take that slander back, right now   :P

The coins are made of some hybrid of copper and nickel    :)

Theme only... when announced   ;)
